Erick Wood

Erick Wood, a native of Raleigh, North Carolina, was a Percussion Fellow at the New World Symphony. Mr. Wood has performed around the world with the Malaysian Philharmonic, North Carolina Symphony, Ft. Wayne Philharmonic, West Michigan Symphony Orchestra, Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra, National Repertory Orchestra, Breckenridge Music Festival, and Bilkent Symphony Orchestra in Ankara, Turkey. During these concerts, Mr. Wood has had the pleasure of working with such renowned conductors as Michael Tilson Thomas, David Robertson, Peter Oundjian, Sir Neville Mariner, Grant Llewellyn, Cliff Colnot, Mark Scatterday, Manfred Honeck, Andrés Orozco-Estrada, James Conlon, Gerard Schwartz, Pablo Heras-Casado, Osmo Vänskä, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Leonard Slatkin and Carl Topilow.

Mr. Wood completed a bachelor’s degree in music performance from DePaul University in 2006. He was then awarded a tuition scholarship to study with Alan Abel at Temple University. He completed a master’s degree in percussion performance in 2008. His significant teachers include Rick Motylinsky, Angie Nelson, Ted Atkatz, Mike Green and Eric Millstein.
